What you need:

Step 1

Use the tips of two round-nose pliers to grasp the ends of the jump ring, keeping the openings facing towards the pliers.

Step 2

To open the jump ring, twist the ends laterally in opposite directions.

NOTE - Do not open the two ends of the jump ring outward to avoid distorting its circular shape and weakening the metal.

Step 3

While firmly holding the jump ring with one of the pliers, slide it into the hole of the flat wire.

Step 4

To close the jump ring, applying some tension, twist the ends laterally until they touch each other.
