How pleasant it is to enter a fragrant environment, or to open the linen drawer and smell the clothes infused with your favourite essence!

With this simple guide, you can easily make your preferred tarts yourself.
Tarts are those candies made of wax that are super fragrant and melted in diffusers to scent the home.
WHAT YOU NEED
PROCEDURE
Always calculate how much wax you will need; for the moulds I use in this tutorial, I will need about 15 g for each tart, so for 6 tarts, that makes 90 g of wax plus another 10 for the bowl, just like in cooking. Total 100 g.
Melt the wax in a water bath. If you want more details on this procedure, you can consult this other guide of ours.
Once melted, turn off the flame, and without removing the bowl from the water bath, add the essential oils; this is because, being a small amount, the wax will tend to cool down quickly, and the risk is that the essence will not be evenly distributed, while if you add it while the flame is still on, you risk evaporating it.
The doses
For every gram of wax, add a few drops of essence; personally, when I use the tarts to scent drawers, I put one drop per gram, but this amount varies depending on individual preferences, olfactory sensitivity, and the intensity of the chosen fragrance.
In this case, with 100 g of wax, I added 10 grams of essence.
*Important: if you use the tarts to scent drawers, be careful to wrap the tarts in tulle to avoid staining the linen.*
When to add the pigments
If you want to colour your tarts a single colour, add the pigment in the bowl along with the essential oils; if you want to make tarts of different colours, add a drop of pigment in each individual mould, it doesn't matter if it's before or after pouring in the melted wax, what’s important is to use very little dye because it colours a lot, and especially mix quickly with a wooden skewer because the wax starts to harden immediately.

There you go!
Your moulds will be ready in no time. If you want to speed up the process, you can put them in the freezer as soon as they start to set.
