Linocut is a printing technique that uses linoleum plates, a material originally created for flooring and made from a mixture of linseed oil and other elements, to create images on paper or fabric.
The plate is first carved with special tools, then inked and finally pressed onto paper or fabric manually or with the help of a press.
In this video, Colleen Corradi Branningam shows us the basics of this technique and clearly guides us from the drawing phase to the final print!
